Walnut Kitchen Renovation
Exactly as designed!
Walnut and white kitchen with custom-built cabinets.
The base cabinets, island, range and fridge cabinets are black walnut, with all drawers for easy accessibility, including hidden toe kick drawers for extra large storage.
The upper cabinets were built with poplar and painted white, with antique mirror leaded glass doors to reflect light and maximize openness, while still hiding real life.
Both the upper and lower corner cabinets have full swing-out doors and large lazy susans.
Laundry Room Renovation
Poor lighting with low ceilings, torn stained carpet, mismatched cabinets, and terrible layout made both the feel and function of this space AWFUL.
No longer a laundry cave.
This dark, windowless room desperately needed a new life. It had poor lighting, torn stained carpet, chipped paneling, and mismatched cabinets. The washer & dryer were in an enclosed space that was framed for bi-fold doors, making the space even more cramped and interfering with the doors opening. The layout was not ideal for maximizing storage space, and the room was abysmal to be in.
Removing the old closet framing opened up the space immensely. We brought in new LVP flooring, lighting, cabinets, and countertops, and even added a new utility sink. This room is now honestly a pleasure to be in. What a massive improvement!
Midcentury Bedroom
Retro Midcentury Modern Bedroom
The only thing kept from the previous room was the rug, which had been part of a Lego theme. But it was time for a more grown up room that could also function as a guest room.
Contemporary Bedroom
Once this young man was off to college, his room got a fresh start too.
Once a shared boys' bedroom, this room hadn't change in (far too many) years. The boys were reluctant to let the bunk beds go. It was time!

Contemporary Bedroom
A sophisticated bedroom for a young man. Once he was off to college, his room got a fresh start too. Much of the furniture stayed: the dresser, the shelves (and all the special things!), and the desk. A chair, end table, and lamps were repurposed from elsewhere in the house. Fresh moody grey paint on the walls, along with a new rug, bed, and linens, gave this room a sophisticated new look.
Home Office
Work is always a little easier when you're surrounded by the things you love. In this case, 8 basses and guitars!
This space also doubles as a guest room, with a queen size fold-out couch for guests.
College Apartment
This living area was already graced with abundant space and light. Hand-me-down couches and inexpensive second-hand tables furnish the space.
Some inexpensive prints and well-loved throw pillows bring in pops of color.
A few easy-care houseplants and layered lighting create a cozy atmosphere.

College Classy Apartment
This college apartment was furnished almost entirely with hand-me-downs, thrifted finds, and second-hand snags. A new rug and bedroom curtains from Amazon pulled it all together. Layered lighting and easy care houseplants make it feel like home.
College Dorm Room
No boy's setup is complete without his gaming rig, which will hopefully also be used to do schoolwork. Video game-themed artwork from home brings flair and fun.
First Home Away from Home
There's only so much you can do in a dorm room, but having a comfy nest is really important for your first year away from home.
A few hand me downs and things from home make it your own.
